Ford’s EcoSport heads to Europe

The Ford EcoSport will soon be on its way towards Europe after Ford revealed that the SUV known for its rugged exterior and fuel efficient nature will be one of the first vehicles to hit the European market as Ford attempts to increase the amount of models it contributes to the in demand European SUV market.

The EcoSport is build around the B-segment platform of Ford and is the solution to agility, flexibility, and the spaciousness of a SUV in a smaller version.

B-car vehicle line director Nick Collins for Ford of Europe stated that the EcoSport offers great fuel economy, value, and quality and in addition will give customers a great small car choice that still gives them multi-activity abilities. He also added that the SUV has already been tested against millions of miles on some of the most challenging terrains on the globe in many different climates.

The EcoSport is instantly recognizable because of its aerodynamic front grille, its distinctive slim headlights, and the cladding against the bumpers and side sills. It will also come with the Ford SYNC in-car connectivity system that allows owners to connect their mobiles and devices to the radio system via USB or Bluetooth.

In addition, Ford will also offer its Emergency Assistance technology as a built in perk. The technology instantly connects occupants in the vehicle to local emergency operators if it senses that an accident has occurred. Other driver assistance perks include Electronic Stability Program, anti-lock brake system, adn the Hill Launch Assist. It is expected that the Ford EcoSport will go on sale in Europe gradually over the next 18 months.
