Is Rolls-Royce building a green car?

With the world trying to be greener, car companies are trying to step things up so they can meet the demands of the consumers.  Many companies like Rolls-Royce and BMW are showing the ways they are going green with new concept cars.

Roll-Royce has the Phantom that only gets 15 miles to the gallon and costing £300,000.  With that type of gas mileage it does not help them be at the top of the environmental craze, until now.  They are in the planning phase of a completely rechargeable electric limousine.  Many people thought Rolls-Royce was coming up with something electrical for two years now and they are finally revealing what their plans are.

The CEO for Rolls-Royce, Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes, has stated three different times since Christmas that an electric or alternatively-fuelled model would be considered.

BMW will showcase their environmentally-friendly technology to the world at the 2012 Olympic Games.  The British based car company BMW already has the MINI and launched an electric powered MINI-E that is rechargeable.  The new low-emissions cars from BMW will be used to carry at least 80,000 VIPs to different areas of the games.

Rolls-Royce did produce record sales in 2010 after their very dismal year in 2009.  Their biggest market is still the USA followed by China and the UK, also other areas showing strong growth throughout the world.  It is a race to the finish to get the best electrical cars out there on the market for all consumers to see.
