Meet The Original Stig, see iconic cars and complete Formula 1 challenges

Petrolheads need to make sure that their tanks are full and their engines raring to go on Sunday the 4th March when they head down to Queensway, Bayswater for a rip roaring day out For this one day only, Pit Stop will be taking over Queensway, Bayswater to feature famous film motors, a special appearance from a TV favourite and a huge range of fun filled family activities.
Bayswater BID are organising this free event that will give all car enthusiasts the opportunity to see first had much loved motors from both the big and small screen that will include the car from Knightrider, the Dodge Charger from the Dukes of Hazzard and the Mystery Machine from the Scooby Doo films.
What’s more, there’ll be a plethora of luxurious classic motors to get those pulses racing such as: the elegant Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 FHC, the original muscle car Aston Martin V8 Oscar India, and the sublime Mercedes 280 SL.
Meet Perry McCarthy – the Original Stig from the BBC’s Top Gear – who will be greeting fans and answering any car and racing queries visitors have. Perry will be giving his insights into the world of motoring, revealing what it was like to work on the famous show and dishing the dirt on all the behind-the-scenes action from the world of Formula 1.
In the Formula 1 Pit Stop Challenge racing car experts will be running mechanic masterclasses on how to change a life sized F1 racing car’s tyres in the quickest time possible. Plus, visitors will get the chance to compete against racing legend Perry himself.
For those who fancy themselves as the next Lewis Hamilton there will be chance to try out the Formula 1 Stimulator. See how it feels to whizz around the track at speeds of up to 300mph.
There will also be an F1 Scalextric Track where visitors can race head to head on a multi-lane grand prix circuit using the latest scale racing cars.
There are loads of activities for visitors to hoot their horns about so head to Queensway, Bayswater on Sunday 4 March to join in the fun. Plus, don’t forget to visit the Taxi Photo Booth to capture memories of the day.
