Land Rover have recently announced the launch of their all new Range Rover, which will be the most capable and refined SUV in the world. This will be the fourth generation in the iconic Range Rover family and this latest model was revealed to the rest of the world at a dramatic launch event in London at Richmond’s Royal Ballet School.
This all new Range Rover is the ultimate in luxury SUV’s, which is a big leap forward from the innovative spirit that was seen 40 years ago in the original design. It will also be the first SUV in the world that has a lightweight body that is completely made from aluminium, and takes the capabilities of this flagship model to a whole different level. The refinement is much improved, as is the handling and performance on every terrain, as will as major advances being made in sustainability.
John Edwards is the global brand director for Land Rover, and says that the launch of this all new Range Rover is a major milestone for the company, and is the first, extremely exciting, output from the unprecedented investment they have made in the technology for premium vehicles.
He added that this latest Range Rover preserved both the unique and essential of the vehicle, and was a special blend of performance, luxury and a capability of coping with every terrain that is unmatched by any other vehicle. Its ‘clean sheet’ design, however, combined with the revolutionary lightweight construction has enable Land Rover to create a whole new experience for luxury car users by increasing their enjoyment in the areas of refinement, handling and comfort.
The clean and elegant lines of this new Range Rover are derived from the brand new interpretation which has been made of the design cues Range Rover are famed for. Even though you know instantly that it is a Range Rover, this vehicle takes a huge leap forward by taking the iconic design and creating a bold evolution to take it far into the 21st century.
At a shade under 5m in length this new Range Rover has, admittedly, a very similar footprint to the model it’s replacing, but comes with a smoother, more streamlined, profile, creating the most aerodynamic Range Rover ever. The interior is pure luxury, with a fresh, modern look that incorporates the distinctive design cues Range Rover are known for but with a fresh and contemporary feel.
The cabin does retain the strong characteristics of the Range Rover architecture, and these are further emphasised by the use of clean, elegant surfaces which have been flawlessly created using only the finest quality veneers and leathers. There is also a vast improvement space wise in the rear, with more than 118mm of extra leg room available, further improved if buyers take up the Executive Class option as an extra.
In order to allow customers to be able to create their own tailor made bespoke vehicle, the luxurious ambience that comes as standard can be extensively altered with a choice of colours, indulgent finishes and other little special details, such as the immaculate trimmings of the colour themed interiors to the effortlessly stylish range of alloys, which can be ordered up to 22in in diameter.
This all new Range Rover has, from the ground up, been engineered to be the most capable and refined model ever. With the adoption of the latest technologies in the design of the chassis and body, the all terrain performance of this vehicle has been taken to a whole new level, both in the accessibility of its off and on road capability and handling, refinement and overall refinement.
