The new Picanto supermini

The new Picanto supermini from Kia sees the car manufacture heading toward a slicker more attractive style targeting the younger generation. Today pictures of the second generation city car has been released today to give car lovers a sneak peak at what they will see shortly in showrooms.

Kia will launch the car in March at the Geneva Motor Show. They are confident that the stylish modern look of the car is going to win over the hearts and minds of consumers.

Picanto supermini is still reminiscent of some of Kia’s larger models. This is largely down to their ‘Tiger Eye’ grill.

According to Peter Schreyer, the design allows the shadow to layer the light, which accentuates the sculpturing lines of the car and breaks up its height giving it strong prominence. From the inside, the car has an expensive ambiance, two-spoke steering wheel and a satin finish material trims. It is spacious thanks to its long wheelbase.

Picanto will come in two shapes – the standard five-door, available globally, and a sporty three-door, available in Europe. Buyers will also have a choice between the 1.0 litre three-cylinder petrol engine and the 1.25 litre four-cylinder CRDi diesel engine.
